Re: My first event
Done my 2nd job yesterday and sold around £40 pounds worth of books and prob another £15 on the lucky dip so not to bad. One lady took a recruit leaflet but havent heard anything yet but keeping my fingers crossed she calls me to sign up! Someone took my details for a school christmas fair in Westerham to so hopefully i get a call for that one to. Have got another 8 events booked in at this stage one of which is a soft play centre in the first week of school holidays (who have said they are happy to have me back on a regular basis if it works out ok for me) and have got into a music bugs class at 3 different locations over the summer holidays with the option of doing another 3 if i do ok at the first 3.Have also got the Bromley carnival bank holiday monday in august which looks to be quite a big event, a breast cancer fund raising afternoon (donating my percentage in cash rather than books), a summer party at one of the local toddler groups, a party which my cousin is hosting for me and waiting on hearing back from the leisure centre for a definate date so hopefully can go a good way to helping me make fs2!! Just need my voice back to normal(have got a really bad cold!) so that i can get on the phone and make some more calls!!! xx

Fab Elaine
Well done honey, Wish I had a few like you. Maybe you should be showing us what to do at next meeting, we might learn a thing or 2. Sue, one of my newbies that only signed thur night, so not even on my system yet, borrowed some books and went to work today and did really well. It took me 3 years to get excited and do anything away from home. Keep going, if Amanda doesnt make team this month, with girls like you, then we need to find out why.Good luck with next one.xxxx

OMG Elaine!
I can't believe you! Your first event and you get a recruit and she come to find you at your house! Us lot can only dream of recruiting like that! Well done, that's fab. I'm so glad you are enjoying it. It's nice to have something else to think about other than what's for dinner or how you are going to amuse the kids.

Lol cant see me overtaking you somehow!!! Gotta say though even though i'm very new and only done one event i have really enjoyed it so far and love having something to do that is my own if you know what i mean! The lady i recruited yesterday called round this afternoon much to my relief so i dont have to go searching for her and she is definately signing up, form all filled out and ready to be sent first thing tommorow!! xx

Re: My first event
Hello again, i'm in Sevenoaks and yes was my son's school fair. They have used Usborne before although not recently so i'm hoping they might be interested in the R.S.R info i sent them last week. And yes i did enjoy myself once the rain had passed and i'd dried out lol. Got email confirmation of another event today on bank holiday monday in august so quite chuffed at the mo as its meant to be a big day with 5000 or so people through so with any luck it will be a good event. Gives me lots of time to prepare myself and build up some more stock to which is good! xx

your first event
Well done honey. Prize draw slips- talk to Amanda about it, but i put the ones with email addresses online, but keep all your slips, as this is you host data base. What i do is, if i give out a recruit pack i mark it on their slip and fill in recruit form when i get home, you can ask Amanda for a copy. Did you enjoy yourself? What area are you? Was this your childrens school event?Have they had an Usborne event before(R.S.R)? Bet Amanda will be proud of u. Emily.xxx

My first event
Hello all, just a quick message to let you know that i survived my first event lol. After a very wet and worrying start the weather turned out absolutely lovely and very warm(so much so that my arms are now completely burnt!!). Didnt do huge amounts of money although between what i made today and a couple of orders i already had i have met my first flying start !!! Will put the order through tommorow when my brain is a little more awake!!Had a few people ask for cards(one of them being someone from the pta of another local school) and although i didnt get any actual bookings quite a few seemed interested so with any luck will have a few call backs at some stage. Managed to hopefully get my first recruit who was really interested in joining so i gave her an application form and my details etc only to realise i'd completely forgotten to get her details to call her in a day or 2 to see if she is definately signing up .I'm pretty sure i can hunt her down somewhere though as i have seen her around so will have to ask around and see if i can find her.Anyway overall all went well and even managed to chat to a few of the teachers who have told me exactly who i need to contact to discuss it all and have told me that they dont have anyone from Usborne at the mo so i should be in with a good chance so am keeping my fingers firmly crossed that i have some luck!! Quick question why i'm here to, with the prize draw slips to i have to enter the details online somewhere or send them on to usborne? Or do i just keep them for contact details for the people that were interested in hearing more? Hope everyone having a good weekend xx
