I've been guzumped! Empty Guzumped

Hi

Don't forget that we offer more - I have never heard of Smiths popping round and running a party!! We have a great range of reading books within the Usborne reading programme and these are rarely available through the major stores (they tend to go for That's Not My and the pretty books as I call them.)

I agree with beckie maybe now is a good time to back off but just keep in touch and keep pointing out the advantages of dealing with someone who has access to the full range all the time.

Don't forget to take advantage of the sales and offers when they come out - lately we have had the spotters guides and the first experience books which have all proved very popular at my recent - 'nearly half price sales' - the phonic sets are a big winner too when they come back in september.

Never forget that almost everything in life is available cheaper somewhere on the internet - that doesn't stop people buying them when they see them and paying high street prices. People love usborne books all we need to do is show them in as many places as possible and sales will definately follow.

And Phonics set is due back very soon-the teachers will love that-and no Smiths won't do that cheaper!!! (Yes I know Book People do but keep that under your hat!) Smiths and other companies (inc Book People) only have access to 30% of our range so she and her friends are missing out on lots more!! If she can't be swayed though just leave it. You'll be so busy around Christmas you won't need that party-although yes schools would have been a bouns!!
Keep smiling!! sunny

Sorry to hear about this. I have not actually been into Smiths so don't know what is available. It is very annoying when things like this happen. Does she not even want free books for hosting a party - that's even cheaper than half price!!! Maybe if she is adament that she foes not want a party then just leave it for the time being. Maybe try her again nearer christmas as she might have changed her mind by then. Would she be willing to pass some school info on to her friends? Tell her about the huge benefits of doing an event for the school ie RSR, poetry comp, book pledge and children's book week.

Sorry to hear you have lost a booking, I have had 2 parties where they have found books cheaper in shops than what we can provide. Unfortunately we have not had any great offers recently from head office to pass onto the customer. When there is other competitors buying and offering Usborne books cheaper than we can theres not alot we can do about it, but chin up theres plenty more fish in the sea. Take it on the chin and just move on, you will keep doing well, dont let one thing ruin it for you.
Good luck.
Regards Caroline. x x x Very Happy

I had an order ready to put through and the lady cancelled as she went into WhSmiths and found all the titles she wanted on the shelf and at half price too No Can't blame her as if you can walk into a shop and buy them cheaper and walk away with them there and then, who wouldn;t! However, she has also cancelled a party she was going to have Sad Her party would have been ideal as it would have been full of teachers and educaiton people etc etc, any ideas how I could get interest back? I have tried free books by providing them myself to keep the interest, but still no. No incentive seems to bring interest back. Do I just give up on that one, or any ideas?
I have lost so many sales and interest due to the books being cheaper elsewhere.
Most annoying!
