Re: Not in my area :-(
Sorry for delayed reply Becky-been mad here!
Glad you are upbeat aboutit all. I am proof that it works when it suits-it's taken me 6 years but I have worked very slowly and steadily and found it perfect in that respect.
Recruiting is definatlely the way to go-build your own group of friends/workers and it improves the earnings immensly!!!! (have I spelt that right???)

Not in my area
Oh no I'm not low at all, I am quite liking breaking into it slowly and just doing a few parties and toddler groups here and there. Sorry I didn't mean it to sound like I was low. I was just saying how good it sounded to have a team of organisers in the same area. It actually makes me want to recruit some friends in my area!!
I just don't have the time or concentration at the mo to have that power hour. I only just get the odd 10 mins to post on forums!! Also I need to get some confidence in what I'm selling and I think that'll come after I've done the smaller events. My husband will also go mad if the phone bill suddenly started shooting up in price as he said I could do Usborne as long as it didn't cost me anything!! Also I couldn't actually do the fairs at the mo as my youngest is demanding, won't take a bottle and I don't have people I could leave the children with for a long period of time.
So don't worry it's working for me at the mo. I've done my required £100 in the first 12 weeks and got FS1. Not so sure I'll get FS2 but we'll see! I'm happy pottering along for the time being. When I have some more time and my little one isn't so demanding I'll get out there and find the business.
Thanks for your encouragement though Becky I appreciate it.

Honey, having your team leader nearby is not what makes it happen. Mine was miles away when I started but I found my own way through toddler groups and pre schools in my area. I never get any leads from my upline-it really isn't a problem.
I think what you need to do is scour the papers in your area and maybe ask the council for a list of toddler groups in your area, call them all up and ask if you can go along one week. Squeeze them all in to the next few weeks and you'll soon get the hang of it all.Now is a great time to contact schools and ask to attend their Christmas fair-although I book lots of big events it honestly is not worth it all the time. Start small-get your name out and get yourself some parties booked in. Even pop to your local Old People's home and see if they would let you take in a few samples for the great Grandchildren! There are so many places to go at this time of year. Have you looked on the website under Training? There's a thing called 1001 places to go-loads of ideas.Get a brownie group to run a ready Steady Read or a few nurseries to all do a Ready staedy Listen. It's not a brilliant economic time at the mo but somehow everyone manages to find pennies for Christmas and with you able to offer FREE books-well it won't get better than that! Place an ad in the local shops and see what happens.
I'll give you a call on Friday when I'm at home and we'll have a chat-please don't feel low because I'm not around the corner! The only one of my team I see regularly is Emily and that's really because we share stables!! Apart from that it's all email and texts so don't feel you are missing out!! You'll be fine,I promise!
Get that list from the council (or Netmums) and give them all a call in a Power Hour!

Not in my area :-(
You guys seem like you've got it sussed. It's a shame I don't live in your area and have a chance at having events passed to me because at the moment I don't seem to be able to find the time to go out and hunt for events!!
I think it seems to be better if your team leader is from your area. Becky you're a great upline but I can see how it benefits to have a team of organisers in the same area as eachother.
I think I'll just stick to home parties this year and hunt for spring craft fairs and target schools for 2009.
