re: confessions or a claim to fame
I've never tried putting anything on the notice board but you're right, loads of people advertise so I don't see how that is different from us. I do get involved in threads and make suggestions about Usborne but I have not yet been told off! Maybe I'm just a bit more sneaky!

Hi
I've upset netmums - again. apparently you are not allowed to recruit on the noticeboard or promote hosting of parties! I said ok but what about everyone else offering 'card making sessions' and the like weren't they parties? she said she would get back to me but meanwhile my ad was 'amended'!!!
thanks for the ideas Nikki I will try them all when I get a mo

Re: CONFESSION or maybe claim to fame!
facebook isn't scary! I'm on it a few times a week checking bits and pieces. You can set up a discussion group and invite people to join. You can then use that discussion group to recommend books, and inform members of things that are happening, events and stuff.
Netmuns is a great website. Bounty.co.uk has a forum (not used myself but been recommended) its kinda like netmums - if it helps.
I'm all up for cheap advertising methods - i have my fingers in many pies - as the saying goes - i runmy own website as well as avon and now this, i like to keep busy!
Will let you know if i find anymore websites.

Re: CONFESSION or maybe claim to fame!
I posted a thing in reply to their request for party planners to put up their details. I just said what a good idea I thought it was and how easy it was to post and that I had put details of my .......... and then went into details of usborne (brief details so i thought i might get away with it!!)
The other one I did is still up there, it was in answer to someone planning a baby show - i said good idea i can bring my books etc and for some reason they have left that one there.

CONFESSION or maybe claim to fame!
Hi
I have been playing around at www.netmums.co.uk for a little while now. I read the notices, check the whats on and have contacted a lot of pre-school groups through the advertising pages - if they have an email, are in my area, they get an email sort of thing. I had noticed that some people were using answers to questions to plug their services so I thought - I can do that. Yesterday I had a look at the new questions on the noticeboard and answered a couple with subtle (I thought they were subtle) plugs. They stayed on all day but I was bounced off last night and mildly told off by the administrator! Only mildly so I will probably do it again but not too soon!!
If you haven't discovered netmums yet have a look I dare you not to find something useful or interesting. They have a new section of party planners and home sellers to plug their services which is quick and easy to do and gives a nice ad for no cost. Meanwhile does anyone out there know of any other sites like this that are of use to spot new groups, plug parties etc? I know about facebook but I am such a rookie to this sort of thing facebook is a bit scary and big for me!
